How to stack coupon codes: the 2026 playbook
Cashback first, code second, gift card last. The exact order that turned a $200 cart into $137 — and where it doesn’t work.
Most people grab one code at checkout and call it a day. That’s leaving two whole layers of discount on the table. Stacking is legal, allowed by most retailers, and takes about ninety extra seconds — if you do it in the right order. Do it in the wrong order and the layers cancel each other out.
The order matters: cashback → code → gift card
1 — Start from a cashback portal. Click through to the store from your cashback tab first. This sets the tracking cookie — do it last and the code click overwrites it.
2 — Apply the best sitewide code. Percentage codes beat fixed-dollar codes on carts over $80. Our verified list shows which codes stack with sale prices.
3 — Pay with a discounted gift card. Gift card marketplaces sell major-retailer cards at 3–8% below face value. That discount applies after everything else.
